State guide
Ohio
Ohio has detailed statewide rules for private-property towing, including PUCO-set maximum removal and storage charges. I did not find a statewide public towed-vehicle lookup for all agencies, but several large cities provide official impound or towed-vehicle pages.
Checked against official sources on October 4, 2026. Rules and links change; confirm with the office listed before you act.

What to do next
- If you arrive before the vehicle leaves, Ohio law allows release on payment of no more than one-half of the removal fee in covered private-property tows.
- Ask for the written notice given at retrieval; Ohio law says it must tell owners they may be able to file a civil action if they dispute the tow.
- Use the city impound page first for local police tows, but for a fee dispute compare the charge to the current PUCO caps in Rule 4901:2-24-03.
