State guide

Louisiana

Louisiana has statewide regulation for non-consensual towing through the Louisiana Public Service Commission, and state law requires local law enforcement to keep tow-storage reports reasonably obtainable for the public. New Orleans also has an official citywide tool to check whether a vehicle was towed by the city.

Checked against official sources on October 4, 2026. Rules and links change; confirm with the office listed before you act.
